The Liverpool Botanical Trust has been created with five Trustees. We have also obtained a current account from Lloyds Bank. This means that we are now able to ask for donations.

As Raoul Curtis-Machin, Director of Horticulture and Visitor Experience at Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, described to us in April, this is why Botanic Gardens matter:

· Conservation horticulture

· Species rescue

· Pest threat research

· Human pest problems

· Climate change adaptation

· Caretakers of endangered species

Whilst not all of these are appropriate for us now, some of our plants are extremely rare.

Our first money-raising event is already planned for the 16th of March 2024, when we will be holding an “Orchid Study” day at Croxteth Hall, with an external Orchid expert.

The challenge we have set ourselves is to acquire a fund of £70,000 to protect what we still have at Croxteth.

If you would like to help us, please donate, either through BACS to our current account:
